Walk with Purpose
The half-way house. The mid-way point. The middle.
With MORE forms submitted, and draft inquiry plans complete
for Module 2. My attention is now focusing towards the Literature Review and
the Critical Reflection. Thoughts and ideas have been mulling around my head of
how to present my work, indicatively.
Yesterday we had a very informative Skype call which we
discussed some key points on the practicalities of the BAPP course. MORE forms,
Gantt Charts and so-forth. Aside from these practical elements, Helen asked us
to reflect upon what we have taken away from this call.
The most prevalent point for me was how we all must continue
to interlink our practice with the course, in every aspect. We must constantly
reflect upon our journey throughout the BAPP. I cannot believe we are at the
midway point and up until now, I haven’t stopped and had a chance to think back
on just how much I have learnt on the course so far. The Critical Reflection, will
be a great way for me to consolidate the skills I have learnt, and I am very looking
forward to writing it.
Helen remarked that all artefacts and reviews must have relevance
and value to me. This is the only way we can continue to deepen our
understanding of our practice.
Some key questions to consider:
Why did you choose your inquiry?
What has challenged you so far?
What have you learnt so far?
How is this learning interconnected with the journey from Module
1 to 2?
I always say to my actors, “walk with purpose or don’t walk
at all.” This stops them from aimlessly wandering around the stage and remain
focused on their character’s objectives. I must take heed of my own advice and
walk on this pathway, with purpose.
