The Power of Blogging
The Power of Blogging
I started blogging a few years ago. (I have written a collection of scripts since I was 18 but would still hasten to call myself a scriptwriter.)
I believe all writers have something to say, an important message to convey, so blogging was a perfect way to express those opinions and views to a wider audience. I never thought about it as a learning experience, I just plonked my opinions there and left them. The BAPP has opened my eyes to a wider sense of understanding and the learning process. I am learning that the concept of a blog is about Networking and Communication, asking questions, reflectionand social connectivity.
Learning has and always will be a network forming process, the way in which we learn is forever advancing and now Web 2.0 is a daily process to encourage further learning. A blog is where we can connect, add your own perspective and build upon ideas. The final product is an augmentation of our knowledge in a collective space.
In Adesola’s blog on “Why Blogging” (https://adesolaa.blogspot.com) Dr George Siemens talks about knowledge being a network product.
Dr George Siemens also describes three processes of learning:
1. Biologically – network forming through biological process
2. Network forming of conceptual ideas which deepens our understanding
3. Networked learning through external social spaces – a social system q
I am now immersing myself in this creative learning experience and gaining huge amounts from it. Understanding that questions lead to other questions, some remain unanswered and we are able to travel to deeper though and understanding. I am excited to be a part of this process and the unknown of where it will lead us.
