Sir Peter Hall

National Theatre Discover, 2014, Peter Hall in Conversation with Nicholas Hytner
He says: “It’s a wonderful therapy, if you said to me why am I a Director, why did I want to be a Director? I would say because, when you have a good company of actors and a good play, and a reasonable amount of rehearsal time, there will be a union, so that a company is created, who support each other, even if they dislike each other. And out that can come extraordinary days of work, where everybody is much better than they know they are, secretly. That’s what I like, the day you go home and say, it really happened today.”
I can remember some extraordinary days of work in my working career and hope to inspire others so that they get the privilege of experiencing this.
